Give me 5!
22 May 2011No new streak
4 June 2011The Budapest Wolves host the Vukovi Belgrade this week, on Saturday, starting from 1PM. Although they played two games this season, it’s already time to think about the chances in the future, as their opponent could secure a finals spot with a win.
In their previous game in Belgrade, the Wolves failed yet again to beat the Vukovi. Despite the problems that some expected from the Vukovi, which were shown a game later in Slovenia, the Wolves came with problems of their own, and lost 28-3.
The Vukovi finally lost a CEFL game in Ljubljana two weeks ago. They almost suffered an embarrassing defeat, but then they almost pulled of a remarkable come from behind win. They increased their chances of repeating as champs a couple of weeks ago, signing last year’s import, defensive back Anthony Stubbs. They will also finally have their best offensive lineman on the field, as Petar Vitorovic comes back from a 3-game suspension. He was ejected from the last year’s CEFL Bowl.
The Vukovi have a good chance of making the finals, since it appears the Cavaliers will not be able to challenge other CEFL teams this year and they still play them twice. In that case, it’s probably a must win game for the Wolves, if they have plans other than just participating in the final. If the Wolves lose, they are still in good shape, since it would be just their second.
Ljubljana did it, so why not the Wolves. Hopefully, that’s what the Wolves themselves are thinking, but until they finally get a win against Belgrade, it will be something to talk about.
Update: The Wolves will broadcast the game live
