Redemption time
28 May 2015GAT Dukes crushed their Serbian rival, SBB Vukovi, in big fashion today. They have waited since 2008 for a rerun of that episode. An unlikely director ran the show after their starting quarterback got sidelined with a leg injury. The final score was a massive 38-14.
GAT Dukes signal caller, Alexander McKean, moved the chains with precision passes, finishing with a 17 yard touchdown to William Powell. After an unsuccessful SBB Vukovi drive, ending with a turnover on downs in the opposing red zone, GAT Dukes took over and Bosko Jokic ran the ball for 20 yards before McKean getting hurt. Powell replaced him at the quarterback position running the ball in for a 1 yard touchdown. Second period started with an SBB Vukovi’s quarterback, Miles Gates interception by Filip Vezmar. Powell took advantage of the opportunity and ran it home for 20 yards. After another SBB Vukovi’s ineffective drive, Powell wasn’t so successful being intercepted himself by Marko Milovanovic. Gates was more efficient this time passing for a 25 yard touchdown to Anthony Washington. Before the expiration of time GAT Dukes’ Andrej Puskas caught a 55 yard pass and set up a field goal by Vladimir Dimitrijevic to end the half at 24-7.
SBB Vukovi tried to catch up again with Gates passing for a 75 yard touchdown to Washington. Their comeback was stifled the next time they controlled the ball after Marko Bakovic’s fumble 10 yards from his team’s end zone. Powell didn’t have a hard time running it in from there for another touchdown. Another déjà vu ensued in the last quarter when he ran it in again for a 1 yard score ending his fantastic productivity for the day to five touchdowns, four rushes and one catch.
