Fight for second place
25 April 2012
Silverhawks dominate Blue Devils
29 April 2012The SBB Vukovi Belgrade got their fourth win of the season, after handling the Zagreb Patriots with ease at home. After 4 quarters of play, the score was 48-12.
The Vukovi were just too much for the Patriots to handle — they scored twice in the first half to cut into the lead, but never got close enough to seriously threaten the number one team in the standings. Laurence Subelka and newcomer Chris Blanton scored for the Patriots, once to reduce the lead to 14-6 and the other time to 28-12, but they never got closer.
Largely because the other running back, Brandon McDowell of the Vukovi, ran all over the Patriots, scoring 4 touchdowns, 3 in the first half. With a touchdown run and two passes from Lance Kriesien it was more than enough for the third Vukovi home win.
Kriesien passed to Dejan Cerovac for 75 yards and a touchdown on the game opening drive. A running battle ensued between the teams. In the end, not only did McDowell scored the most, but his team completely outscored the opponent. It was 35-12 at halftime.
The SBB Vukovi defended their home turf for the third and final time this season, not counting the playoffs. They visit the Wolves and the Blue Devils to close out the regular season.
