The Ljubljana Silverhawks signed their first import for the upcoming 2012 season and it’s one with a proven track record in the CEFL. Desmond Hendricks will rejoin the Silverhawks after winning the Defensive Player of the Year individual trophy in 2011.

His season was cut short last year and he played in just half the games, but he still finished the season with impressive numbers: 29.5 tackles, 8.5 for loss and 2 sacks. The Silverhawks missed the Bowl game after playing in it in 2010, but managed to beat the 4-time champs from Belgrade during the season.

They have also acquired a new head coach and suggested they’d be looking for a quarterback. They’ll also have several experienced offensive linemen from Germany on their team. All in all, the Silverhawks could have their best team ever next year and this is shaping up to be one of the most competitive seasons in CEFL history.
