After two games played it’s maybe to early to say that these teams are the leading candidates to reach the finals, but both teams have a reputation that deserves just that. Both the Vukovi and the Wolves went through a hard fight in the first round, but both managed to get wins and now they will face off for one more battle in their long rivalry. Considering the Vukovi never lost in Belgrade on their current field, since 2007, and never lost to the Wolves period it might seem it’s not much of a game.

But that looks can be deceiving is quite clear once it’s realized that almost each and every game between these teams has been a long battle that lasts for four quarters.

So what’s new with the Wolves? Everyone following football in the region knows everything about the way the Wolves lost the CEFL Bowl in 2007. Since then, it’s almost as if they never recovered. But if they were at their best then, they could be back to that level this year, since one of their best players of that year is back in 2011.

Vasyl Yordan is back to quarterback the Wolves and although his stats weren’t impressive, some others typically were. It is like Péter Cseperkáló waited for his return, but his performance in the last game with 140 yards on the ground reminded everyone of his amazing year in 2007.

Although weakened this year, the Vukovi are still the champions and they still have plenty of good players on the roster. But some of their problems this year that showed in the Serbian league could be additional motivation for the visiting team and it’s not that they don’t have plenty of it. It will be another CEFL game, but also another opportunity for the Wolves to prove they can be equal to their Serbian foes. They were close plenty of times, but never good enough. Their chance is Saturday at 6PM in Belgrade.
