Despite some offensive struggles, Belgrade won another game big. William Blocker scored two touchdowns in what turned out to be a 38-6 route of the Ljubljana Silverhawks.

Defense and special teams won the game for the Vukovi, on a day their offense didn’t score as many touchdowns as in the two prior games. Stefan Gajić returned another fumble for a touchdown, and with Blocker’s kickoff return and Milan Matović’s field goal, the first 21 of their 24 points weren’t scored by the offense.

After Rok Štamcar found Rok Ponikvar in the end zone for a 6-0 lead, Blocker quickly answered scoring on a long touchdown run from the Vukovi’s 3 yard line.

Although they were only down four points at the half, the Ljubljana Silverhawks couldn’t recover from their opponent’s three quick scores, losing by 31 points in the end.

The losing streak continues for Ljubljana, as they’ve now gone three in a row without a win. At least they’ve stayed in front of the Monarchs, who again fell to a Serbian team; this time, the Novi Sad Dukes beat them 29-6 on their field.

Similar to Belgrade, Novi Sad scored on long touchdowns, but most of them came on offense. Quarterback Čaba Juhas ran for over 50 yards, as did running back Marko Đanić. In between those, Jovan Plećaš scored on an 8 yard reverse run. Linebacker Ivan Međugorac intercepted a pass and returned it for the final score.

The score at the half was 15-6 and the Monarchs let the game slip away when they couldn’t score in four attempts on the opponent’s 3 yard line.

Dukes scored as many points as they did in their previous away game, but the parallels don’t end there. They finished the game with several injuries — linebackers Slobodan Mijatov and Dušan Dragićević, along with guard Miloš Stojanović were all out of the game. Dragićević suffered the hardest injury, breaking his arm.
