The semifinals game between the Silverhawks and SBB Vukovi took place in Radomlje on Sunday. In the season celebrating a decade of League’s existence, SBB Vukovi will advance to their tenth bowl game. They had a slow start yet again but were able to turn the game in their favor only in the fourth quarter and come to a win of 21-14. The game was broadcast on the regional SportKlub TV.

The Silverhawks started the game better, scoring early in the first quarter with their quarterback, Clark Evans’ run of 7 yards. After a short game break in the second quarter due to hail, SBB Vukovi changed the signal-caller. Anthony Washington, their reliable wide receiver stepped in at the quarterback position and ran for a touchdown of 45 yards in his very first drive. The Silverhawks have answered right back with Evans’ 23 yard touchdown to Eugen Sumic, raising the bar for SBB Vukovi. The score at half time stood at 14-7.

A lot of fruitless drives were seen in the second half by both teams. Aided by interceptions, as well as opponent’s bad punts and penalties, teams took turns attempting to break into each other’s end zones with no effect. After a missed field goal by the Silverhawks, SBB Vukovi’s persistent running game turned out to be a recipe for success. Marko Bakovic’s long run put them in front of their rival’s end zone and Washington ran into in for a 5 yard touchdown to even the score. After an inefficient drive by the Silverhawks, Washington managed to break free of his defenders and score yet again with a 60 yard run. The ensuing Hail Mary pass by the Silverhawks was intercepted by Ivan Nedeljkovic to end the game.
