The biggest decision that was made during the annual CEFL meeting was the approval of the Cineplexx Blue Devils’ application to participate in the upcoming CEFL season. And with that, the CEFL completed its 2012 roster of teams – the Blue Devils will compete with Belgrade, Budapest, Zagreb and Ljubljana for the trophy.

The team from basically the westernmost point of Austria already took part in the CEFL in 2009, when they reached the final after a strong one-loss regular season. They lost however; they were also scheduled to appear in 2010, but it didn’t happen in the end.

For years members of the Austrian’s top division, the Blue Devils also participated in the Swiss League for the last two years. They stepped down to Austria’s Division II where they will also play this year, to give playing time to their second team.

Another important decision at the meeting was the finalization of the 2012 schedule. Barring any changes, the 2012 season kicks-off on the 17th of March in Zagreb and Budapest, where the home teams host the Vukovi Belgrade and the Blue Devils respectively.

The playoff starts end of June and the CEFL Bowl is scheduled for the 21st of July.
