When the Istanbul Cavaliers lost their opening game in Budapest last month, it still appeared they could do something this year. The loss was close and running back Desmond Mays absolutely shined, going for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Well, the Cavaliers will go without Mays for the rest of year. The explanation from team president Bahadır Ilgaç was quite simple.

“Without having a head coach, we couldn’t manage disciplinary issues. We plan to bring others depending on the result of this game.”

This game is of course this weekend’s game against the Ljubljana Silverhawks. The Silverhawks went into another direction this week, bringing in their big time running back of 2009, Joseph Moncur.
