Alone at the top
31 May 2009The IFAF president Tommy Wiking arrived in Belgrade where he, along with the Vukovi president Goran Nišavić and a CEFL representative Gabriel Dielacher, was received in the Assembly of Belgrade by the city’s Secretary of Sports Goran Kreclović.
“Thank you all for having me. I wanted to come to Serbia for a long time, not only because of american football. Football in Serbia has been impressive … I hope it continues to develop”, said Wiking.
He will later today attend a presentation of american football in Serbia hosted by the Serbian Association of American Football; tomorrow he will attend the Vukovi – Blue Devils game in Belgrade.
“I want to see how they stand against an AFL team”, said Wiking, but he also adressed the current issues in Serbian football, with two federations acting side by side. “The current situation is not good for anyone. I hope to unite Serbia into one federation, because it could be a really strong football nation.”
