Dukes promote Nikolić to Head Coach

The Novi Sad Dukes promoted their last year’s offense coach, Predrag Nikolić, to Head Coach. He will replace Aleksandar Lazarević, who acted as a player coach last season

Vučković leaves for the US

One of the most talented young players in Serbia, Vuk Vučković, has managed to fulfill a part of his goal in life and sports. Until now a player of last year’s SELAF champions, Wild Boars, this 21-year old is soon leaving to the United States where he will continue playing football at Mesa Community College in Arizona

The Wolves complete SELAF’s teams for 2007

The Budapest Wolves will be the sixth team in SELAF for next year, adding a team from Hungary to SELAF, which now has teams from four countries. They will compete in the conference with the Ljubljana Silverhawks and the Asvö Gladiators. Like the Austrian team Gladiators, the Wolves will play parallel in SELAF and Austrian Division I next year

Welcome Gladiators

Asvö Gladiators will be a new SELAF team, it was decided in a league meeting in Zagreb. The meeting that was hosted by Gabriel Dielacher, a member of the SELAF’s Governing Body and sponsors representative, was dedicated to the next SELAF season and league development in the future. Gladiators’ representatives Paul Edelsbrunner and Andreas Mayer confirmed that the team that also plays Austrian Division I will take part in SELAF next year. They will replace the Legionaries from Mitrovica, last placed team from the previous season

Igor Hoffmann is no longer the Vukovi’s coach. After four years of being in charge of the Vukovi, in an agreement with the team he decided to leave the position of head coach.

Lasta stays with SELAF

An important factor in the success of SELAF was the presence of sponsors such as Lasta. The largest bus company in Serbia helped in the transport of teams from Serbia to Ljubljana and vice-versa, and in the words of Goran Topalović, one of Lasta’s executives, this company will remain with SELAF next season as well

Expected a better year

A somewhat disappointing season for the Silverhawks ended last week when they fell to Dukes in Novi Sad for their sixth loss of the season. One of the bright spots on the team was David Turšič, who recorded 2nd best five interceptions in the league while playing safety
