Paganelli: Experience brings confidence

The Serbian American Football Referees’ Association held their annual officiating clinic last weekend in Belgrade, and for two days the Serbian officials were lectured by Carl Paganelli, Supervisor of Officials in NCAA’s Mid-American Conference. He was also in Bergamo, Italy a few weeks ago for the Italian Officials’ clinic. After years of participating in seminars all around Europe, this was his first time in Serbia

Đuričko: I’m a Vukovi fan

The person that sang the Serbian anthem before the 2006 SELAF Bowl between the Wild Boars and the Vukovi is Nikola Đuričko, one of the most well known actors in Serbia. Besides that, for the last couple of months he has been a TV host for the Karaoke Showdown that airs on Serbia’s B92. In his own words, he is a fan of the sport and also a fan of the Vukovi that plans to be regularly in the stands during the forthcoming season

Zagreb eyeing SELAF

The only American football team in Croatia, the Zagreb Thunder, will play a friendly match next Saturday in Zagreb against Belluno Grifoni from Italy. Playing against a more experienced team made out of American marines stationed in Italy will be a good test for the Croatian team

The Novi Sad Dukes promoted their last year’s offense coach, Predrag Nikolić, to Head Coach. He will replace Aleksandar Lazarević, who acted as a player coach last season

Vučković leaves for the US

One of the most talented young players in Serbia, Vuk Vučković, has managed to fulfill a part of his goal in life and sports. Until now a player of last year’s SELAF champions, Wild Boars, this 21-year old is soon leaving to the United States where he will continue playing football at Mesa Community College in Arizona

The Wolves complete SELAF’s teams for 2007

The Budapest Wolves will be the sixth team in SELAF for next year, adding a team from Hungary to SELAF, which now has teams from four countries. They will compete in the conference with the Ljubljana Silverhawks and the Asvö Gladiators. Like the Austrian team Gladiators, the Wolves will play parallel in SELAF and Austrian Division I next year

Welcome Gladiators

Asvö Gladiators will be a new SELAF team, it was decided in a league meeting in Zagreb. The meeting that was hosted by Gabriel Dielacher, a member of the SELAF’s Governing Body and sponsors representative, was dedicated to the next SELAF season and league development in the future. Gladiators’ representatives Paul Edelsbrunner and Andreas Mayer confirmed that the team that also plays Austrian Division I will take part in SELAF next year. They will replace the Legionaries from Mitrovica, last placed team from the previous season
