The SBB Vukovi Belgrade defeated their biggest Serbian rival, the Kragujevac Wild Boars, 35-24 in Belgrade, successfully defending their championship won last year. It is the Vukovi’s fourth Serbian league title. They also beat the same team last year in the final.

The Vukovi started off hot, scoring on a 63 yard pass from Lance Kriesien to Filip Stojanović. The Wild Boars leveled, but it was not long before the home team took a 21-7 lead, all in the first quarter.

Things took a dramatic turn in the second quarter, as the Wild Boars scored two touchdowns and a field goal to take a 21-24 lead at halftime.

The Vukovi were however not stunned. Kriesien scored on two touchdown runs in the third quarter, after passing for two and running in for one in the first half. Despite staying close in the game, the Wild Boars failed to score and the title stays in Belgrade.

It was a triumphant end to the Serbian season for the SBB Vukovi. They previously took home all the individual awards: linebacker Nemanja Lazarević on defense, receiver Filip Stojanović on offense and Kriesien as the best import.

After the Silverhawks also won the Slovenian league last week, the winner of the CEFL Bowl VII will end the season on a highly successful note.
