SBB Vukovi’s redemption
2 June 2014
Interview with Kenric McNeal, Silverhawks quarterback
21 June 2014Three more games are left to play in SportKlub CEFL and two of those coming this Sunday will have a direct impact on the finals. One of those is played in Budapest between Docler Wolves and SBB Vukovi and the one with much higher stakes will take place in Kragujevac where the Wild Boars host Ljubljana Silverhawks. The chances and hopes of all these teams couldn’t be more different.
Let’s start with the most obvious one, the Docler Wolves. Having lost their chances to participate in the finals a while ago, they are playing for honor. Hoping to break their two season losing streak they could make the Silverhawks very happy with a win against SBB Vukovi. Meanwhile, their namesakes from Belgrade have a clear path to the finals from a second spot in the standings with a win in Budapest. If they lose, however, the Silverhawks could take over their place in the bowl game with winning the last two games.
Last season’s finalists, Kragujevac Wild Boars, are a shoo-in for the top spot this time. With a win, or a loss by up to 19 points difference in this last game of their season, they will insure their participation in the bowl game. On the other hand, the Silverhawks need a win of more than 19 points difference and one more win next week against Docler Wolves to take the Wild Boars’ place in the bowl game. They could also play the Wild Boars for the title with any kind of win in Kragujevac and against Docler Wolves next week in case SBB Vukovi lose in Budapest.
