Only a few days after helping his team to become the first team this year to secure a playoff berth with a win in Budapest, the Vukovi Belgrade quarterback Jordan Green was honored in a way unrelated to playing football in Serbia. He was invited to attend the dinner party hosted by the Serbian president Boris Tadić on Wednesday, during the official visit of the United States vice president Joe Biden.

Green was invited alongside several other former and current athletes, including former Serbian and NBA player Vlade Divac, and current basketball player of Red Star Belgrade, Andre Owens. Green said it was a great honor to represent his team, the CEFL and the Serbian Association of American Football at the event.

“It’s a great honor that I’ll attend such an event, because it’s a very important dinner. If I get a chance to talk to the vice president of my country, I’ll speak in a positive way of everything in Serbia, because I feel great here. I’ll try to introduce him to the level of american football and its progress in a short period of time. Considering that Biden himself used to play american football, I believe we’ll have a common subject”, said Green before the event for the Serbian papers Sportski Žurnal.

Biden played the sport during late fifties and early sixties during his time in high school and later at the the University of Delaware.
