20 June 2006Nišavić: “Europe is our goal”
13 July 2006American football lovers in Serbia are in for another treat this weekend, as one of the best matchups of the season is slated to repeat itself. After a real nailbiter in Novi Sad, the Dukes will play the Belgrade Vukovi again this weekend – but this time in Belgrade.
Vukovi, still recovering from their defeat in Kragujevac, are ready to prove that their bad form two weeks ago was just a speed bump on the road to SELAF throne, and are looking forward to notch another win in front of their home crowd. Still, Vukovi starting center Željko Nešić is being cautious.
“We almost lost last time in Novi Sad, so we learned something from that experience. The Dukes are a respectworthy opponent, and both of us are well-aware how crucial this game is. Still, we`ll do our best to prevent an upset and stay in the title race”, said Nešić.
The atmosphere at the Dukes camp is similarily positive, despite their recent defeat in Ljubljana. The northerners have shown that they can win away from home though, and their winning experience in Kragujevac adds extra motivation to their players.
QB Čaba Juhas, in particular, thinks Dukes can overcome the odds in Belgrade. “The game won`t be an easy one. Vukovi have a good team, they play consistently good, unlike us who never seem to have a good game on both ends of the field. If we manage to finally synchronise our effort on both offense and defense, we could just win this one”, said Juhas.
The game will be played at Obilić stadium in downtown Belgrade, with the kickoff penciled in for 17h.
