The Cineplexx Blue Devils played a friendly preseason game before the 2012 season start and won convincingly. They faced the Kornmesser Rangers, who will this year participate in Austria highest ranked competition — the final score was 27-6.

The Rangers won the Divison I last year, qualifying for the AFL, while the Blue Devils will participate in the second division and of course the CEFL.

The Devils beat a theoretically much stronger opponent, but they have already indicated, that they will participate in the Division II with their second team. It is in any case a strong indication that they will be in contention for the CEFL trophy again this year. They played in the CEFL Bowl IV in 2009, but lost.
